Surprisingly the team of mediaedge:cia catapulted after the first race of the Gewista urban media GoKartCup to the pole position. Last year, it was the team Achter, this time it brought forward one sensational round after the other.
A great atmosphere ruled during the second edition of the Gewista urban media GoKartCup, which started on February 23 in the Daytona Rayceway Hall in Langenzersdorf. Stylish new overalls with the team- and agency logos, a heated up atmosphere as always, more fans than ever and real racing atmosphere.
The Gewista Racing-Event started fulminantly in the second season. 9 teams from top-agencies, a creative team consisting of General Managers from well-known creative agencies, a culture team, consisting of important representatives of the Austrian Culture Scene and the Gewista-Team and clearly quicker times than in the year before in front of a great setting. This confirms also the Coach Sabine Binder-Wessely from the winning team mediaedge:cia: “The secret of success? We have many good new drivers, which we didn´t have last year, the good drivers from last year we have kept. In total we have started well. We always train before a race in order to set up the best team. We have not counted on victory.”
The Gewista General Manager KR Karl Javurek was personally present, awarded the winners and was overwhelmed himself: “This is a feeling like at the Top-Grand Prix. With our trophy we have really scored a hit.”
The crew of the mediaedge:cia turned in one dream-round after the other, clearly before the media Austria Supersonics and the Creative´s over all, which has alike the “Kulturteam”, been present for the first time and surprised right away. The “Ästheten der Nation” showed with place no.6 that they are not only asthetic, but also fast: “The race-feeling is extremely contagious – one is infected from the very first second. Also the team has worked together very well. For the next race we have planned to organise our drivers´ change better in order to save time. We will for sure learn something new - the goal is GoKartCup”, means Stefan Wollmann, Wiener Festwochen, from the Culture Team.
Game, fun and yet seriousness: the sportive challenge animated all to personal top-achievements, almost like at a pitch for a big etat. This you can also see from the achievements of Bettina Binder from the MediaCom HotRods who was the fastest woman in the race.
The fans had their fun, the hall was perfectly staged, racing feeling through and through: “The GoKartCup is a great idea. The planning goes in the direction victory with the secret wappon teamspirit. We drive with the motto “All for one and one for all” – also the weak drivers take their chance”, means Gerd Babits from the agency Strobelgasse. This could only be affiliated by the rest of the participants and watchers. “A good start, which promises excitement for the whole year”, sums up the event-organiser Barbara Boltz from the Gewista: “The GoKartCup will become a fixed event for the creative and media scene.”
