"Step on it!" was the motto at the Gewista urban media GoKartCup that went into the second preliminary round on 4 April at KartCenter Kottingbrunn. A total of 13 teams with six drivers each competed against each other and fought for one of the coveted places on the podium.

Excitement was and still is guaranteed. Regulations have changed slightly in 2008. The Gewista GoKartCup, meanwhile a tradition in the media and advertising scene, is now decided in two heats with two-hour races and an eight-hour final.

Last Friday, 13 teams fought the fight for fame and honour. The drivers were challenged once again during the second qualifying race before the grand final, but fun and excitement still the overriding factors.

The racing community's every desire was well catered for: the karts flew around the corners with squealing tyres - with one even crashing - until the decisive moment: The Creativteam under team leader Yvonne Fritz won first place, silver went to the Media 1 team and team leader Alex Müller, whilst third place went to the drivers of OMD Turbo Racer under the management of Christoph Auböck. Manuel Teuschert was the fastest male driver, whilst Anna Raisinger was the fastest female driver for the second time.
